Monetary valuation of environmental impacts
WebEnvironmental cost-benefit analysis (ECBA) refers to social evaluation of investment projects and policies that involve significant environmental impacts. Valuation of the environmental impacts in monetary terms forms one of the critical steps in ECBA. We propose a new approach for environmental valuation within ECBA framework that is Webenvironmental flow to monetary value, thus introducing a large amount of uncertainty around the assumption requiredto reach the monetary valuation.Top-down approaches utilize pre-existing and peerreviewed methods to characterize environmental flows into midpoints and endpoints and then introduce the monetary value at the last only step.
