Budby dates from at least 1662 when the area was part of Sherwood Forest then a Royal Forest, though most of the forest has since been cleared for agriculture. WebTrowell is located in the county of Nottinghamshire, East Midlands, two miles north of the town of Stapleford, five miles west of the major city of Nottingham, and 111 miles north-west of London. Trowell lies just south-east of the Derbyshire border. Trowell falls within the district council of Broxtowe, under the county council of Nottinghamshire.
